in February 2000, the Department of History, AMU, recruited few lecturers. Of them, not less than 4 were selected and placed without posts. What are the rules? How does the AMU justify it? What can be done about it now? Moreover, two lecturers (or more), in violation of the 5th Pay rules of the UGC, were placed directly on Senior Scale. Is there any rectification of illegalities in AMU?

There has been a long standing demand on the AMU administration for rectification the reason why Mathew Commission was set up, we know what happened to it!!! |

Dear All, Assalamoalikum,
After a series of high-profile scientific misconduct cases in stem cell biology and physics, an Indian chemistry Senior Lecturer has been found committing unethical practices. It has been observed that the unethical, fraud practices and scientific misconduct was played by an author Dr. Suhail Sabir (suhailsabir@email.com), Department of Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University , Aligarh in publishing four articles in esteemed journals like Chinese Chemical Letters, Journal and Dispersion Science and Technology and Oriental Journal of Chemistry. (Proof of scientific plagiarism and fraudulent use of data in appendix)
I am sorry to disclose that the major part of the work described in these papers viz FTIR spectra, UV-Vis spectra and the explanation there in is directly copied from the Ph.D thesis of Dr. A.I. Yahya. The title of the thesis is \"Studies on aniline based conducting polymers\"- which was submitted in Aligah Muslim University , Aligarh , India in 2004.
Dr. Suhail Sabir has copied everything from the thesis word by word. Major part of the paper is taken from the 4th chapter of the thesis – Copolymers of aniline with o-, m- and p-nitroanilines. Even some errors appeared in figure caption in that thesis has appeared in this paper as such.
One of the copied paper published by author Dr. Suhail Sabir recently in Chinese Chemical letters, 19, 1358, 2008, is taken from the 6th chapter of the thesis of Dr. Yahya and from his published paper in Journal of Macromolecula Science Part A - Pure and Applied Chemistry, 45, 650-657, 2009. There also Dr. Suhail Sabir copied figures and words directly from the thesis of Dr. Yahya.
It is also very shameful that same copied date from the thesis was published in two papers with only the difference in the title of the paper.
(Proof of scientific plagiarism and fraudulent use of data in appendix)
You can also go through the hard copy thesis at Mulana Azad Library, A.MU., Aligarh or contact the Department of Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University for further enquiry in this regard.
I am also attaching the softcopy of the papers and thesis indicating the copied data in highlighted color.
Persons like Dr. Suhail Sabir is shameful for the whole academic community believing in ethics in research and publishing scientific papers.
I hope all of you reading this mail can better understand the gravity of the issue. I request you all to discourage this scientific plagiarism and fraudulent use of data by the Dr. Suhail Sabir.
Thanking you,
Best regards

university petrlo pump has now become easily accessible to everyone except AMU staff.this is very ridiculous how can a petrol pump facilitated by AMU could allow access to every tom dick and harry of Aligarh.in this scorching heat we the staff members are forced to be in a long line and the most shocking is that only one office personnel gives cash slip and other three usally sit and chit chat. Concern Authority must wake... |
Another issue that needs to be addressed is that the Univ petrol pump does not give customer's copy of the payment receipt. |

dear Aligs ..this is the matter of shame for us .the present VC is Promoting Nepotism by encouraging his nephew..The registrar .he is totally incompetent and doesnot deserves to hold even at any clerical post of AMU i wonder how he happens to be the teacher of Hindi..he cannot even speak hindi fluently. His body language and personality is not at all expressive.unfortunately he also happens to be the manager of amu schools.he appears to be ignorant(or feigns ignorance) about any thing around him. This is very strange...This is also reflective of the lost glory of AMU. |
Apart from this it needs to be studied as to how many incompetent and otherwise persons have been recommended by the Vice Chancellor on various administrative posts. We need to develop an index to measure the loss of gloary. |

A lot more people should join the endeavour but are not which shows the cultural standards of teachers of this University who only seem to have vested interests to further |
What can we say!! it appears teachers are not even willing to save their own interests, this is the first University which provides infrastructural and other facilities first to non-teachers and then the remains may be passed on to the teachers |
