Prof. Noor Mohammad was appointed as Chairman of the Department of Sociology & Social Work for the first time in the year 1986 and since then has continued to be Chairman for seven times illegally barring only 27 months intermittently. The deterioration of the academic standard in the said Deptt. is obviously for the above mentioned reason. He has proved the adage to be true that “Power corrupts a man and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. His appointments have been totally illegal in contravention to the rules and regulations as well as guidelines of the UGC. The prime motive of remaining as Chairman of the said Deptt. is to perpetuate his illegalities, help in the appointment of his relatives in the Department/University, misappropriate the project funds (which he is doing from the last several years) and thereafter fabricate documents to justify the same. One such example is of Ms. Deeba Israil (close relative of Prof. Noor Mohammad) who was illegally appointed as Project Fellow and the amount was misappropriated by them. The report of the project was misused by Ms. Deeba Israil and by way of plagiarism, she submitted the same as the Ph.D thesis and got it approved in connivance with the officials in a short span of time, whereas the serious students suffer and are made to run pillar to post. |
