Mr Akmal Husain, Sr Scientist, Zoological Survey of India, Chennai, email: akmal_husain@yahoo.com, cell: 9003173400 was applicant for the post of Registrar and Controller at AMU. He was not selected for any of these posts as his performance was quite poor. However, As Prof V K Jaleel, (appointee Registrar) is in all probability not joining, Mr Akmal has been asked by AMU administration to show his loyalties by floating mails in praise of Dr Abdul Azis and against his enemies like EC members and Dr Tariq Islam. AMU administration is quite impressed by Akmal\'s performance on the issue of suspension of Dr Tariq (considered by VC as his enemy No 1). Though Mr Akmal’s English is quite bad, but at least it is far better than that of Prof V K Jaleel. Thus, the AMU administration is planning to soon induct him on a plum position as they direly need such people. |
Mr Akmal is welcome. Though the matter is beyond the domain of RTI, yet we would like to comment that it would be in the fitness of things if our loyalties are towards the institution and not individuals! |

How can a STAFF ASSOCIATION just condemn a crazy act and sit Back???
There needs to be more action----the staff association members are the elected representatives of the entire AMU staff----is this all they can do>>>??Are they so powerless and laid back---Why did they come forward to fight elections in the first place???
Wake up Staff Assoc guys-----!!!!!

VERY WELL WRITTEN IN AMUNETWORK:-
The suspension of Dr. Tariq Islam can be seen as one naïve decision by the university authorities. Being an RTI activist is no crime, even if that activity finally proved to have “played a lead role in collecting incriminating evidence which finally landed Azis in a spot”. Taking the basis of as old as a “27-year-old case of suspected fake marksheet” and that too at this critical juncture in the history of AMU appears to be very untimely. I am afraid that all the respect and good reputation that Prof. Aziz has earned from the AMU fraternity in the recent past will be badly affected by this one unfortunate decision. I was very sure that Prof. Azis was much more brave and would have stood up to come out cleaner and taller from this enquiry without having to resort to counter attacks on lesser involved individuals. Don’t we call it in proverbial terms: “Dhobi par bas na chala toh gadhey kay kaan ainthey”. Some head rolling could have been expected after the enquiry report was out, but only for the real miscreants and not for their aides. The grandeur of a VC demands overlooking personal attacks in the larger interest of the University. I am more concerned about the repercussions now.

The suspension of RTI activist Tariq Islam with a stony silence of AMU Staff association clearly indicates their association is with V.C & against the welfare of their staffs. |
AMU Teachers' Association has Unequivocally Condemned Suspension of Dr Tariq Islam. For details pl visit "News and Archives" section in our "Press Room" |

The AMU lacks a united and powerful Staff Association!!!!!!!!!!---If you had a genune staff association, your VC would never dare to indulge in high handedness.
Actually such a suspension like RTI activist, Tariq Islam would have led to a Indefinite Strike , Had it happened in JNU or Delhi Univ.
When will AMU staff members realize this?? When will you all understand the power of Unity????
(Some people from Delhi Univ). |
UNITY in AMU??? This word is alien to AMU Staff! |
