How to file a RTI to AMU from DELHI send an RTI application addressed to CAPIO/DR (Legal), Registrar Office, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. In the "Subject" mention that it is an RTI application. Further, append a postal order of Rs 10 addressed to "Finance Officer, AMU" payable at "Aligarh". ANy further queries are welcome.

There was a fiasco during the MD/MS entrance exam of AMU. An inquiry revealed lapses and wrong doings. The exams were ordered by the VC to be repeated---- Does it all end there.... The name of AMU was \'further\' defamed---but who cares!!!! The students were put to unecessary torture---morale was lowered---dates would clash etc etc. WHY WERE THOSE RESPONCIBLE FOR THIS SCANDAL NOT CAUGHT AND PUNISHED!!!!!! The AMU VCs are so fond of using Section 19/3 C to suit their whims-----Some people ought to be suspended/punished ....... THIS IS NO JUSTICE by just ordering a repeat exam without punishing the culprits!!!!!! RTI can be filed on the outcome of the inquiry ordered by administration. We hope that AMU administration would identify and severely punish the guilty.

Dr G N Qazi, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, has threatened to file RTI applications on RTI group! This he said interestingly on 26th January 2010 during interaction with staff members. He is peeved on filing of RTI applications on Jamia Hamdard University, and uncovering of several scandals which have been plaguing the institution. Any comments from RTI Group?? Jamia Hamdard University is covered by the RTI Act. Any citizen of India can file RTI application on this institution. We would like to remind authorities of Jamia Hamdard that Central Information Commission had slapped a fine of Rs 25000 on Prof. Akhtar Majeed, former Registrar, Jamia Hamdard. They should also remember that they even lost the appeal in High Court and this fine had to be deposited. Thus we ADVISE them to strictly adhere to provisions of RTI Act and not waste time otherwise. They have to embrace transparency at all costs!

Is it true that the inquiry ordered by the Hon\'ble Visitor of AMU & President of India Mrs Pratibha Patil has been scrapped? How could this have happened? Is it because Prof Azis has surrendered before the Congress? You have got it all wrong! To the contrary orders for fresh 2 member inquiry have already been issued. We are confident that justice shall prevail and whosoever is guilty will be severely punished.

There are rumours that FIR has been filed by group opposing the administration in connection with the AMU Court elections held on 31 Jan 2010. They claim that as in the case of MD/MD examination, there was massive bungling and administration considered the candidature of NRIs such as Nadeem tareen and Ameer Ahmad, fully being aware that NRIs cannot contest or be elected to AMU bodies such as Court. Further, there are also allegations that certain IAS/central govt employees who are helping Prof Azis in delaying the inquiry were allowed to contest (as also some got elected) without permission from Govt of India. Are these allegations true? Has RTI Group too joined hands with administration? Why is it silent?? RTI Group cannot comment at present. We are taking steps under the RTI Act to dig out the truth. But it will take time. However, we would like to add that any citizen of India can file FIR and in case of fraud or other irregularities there are several avenues for redress of grievances. RTI Group is working for transparency and accountability without any fear or favour. It is not SILENT. We are busy doing our work and AMU administration is busy victimizing us in various forms.
